USEFUL TIPS & STUDIO ETIQUETTE

 ⚠️ SOME IMPORTANT COVIDSAFE 'MUST-KNOWS' 

 

Please take note of the following important information in adherence with the current government rules and restrictions.

FACE MASKS 

All staff, patrons and visitors to our studio must wear a face mask when entering and exiting the premises and your mask must be kept with you at all times. Once you are on your mat and you are adequately social distanced, you have the option to remove your mask when exercising. However, if you need to leave your mat for any reason, your face mask must be worn. (Lawful exemptions excluded.) 

 

CLASS BOOKINGS 

Due to the current Covid restrictions and the limited number of students per class, bookings are ESSENTIAL to avoid disappointment. Class bookings, our reopening timetable, redeeming your first free class and purchasing passes and memberships can be done through the MindBody app or website. (see 'Our Classes & Prices")   

CLASS CANCELLATIONS 

Class cancellations must be done through MindBody 3+ hours prior to the class start time* 

 

B.Y.O. 

To reduce the sharing of equipment, we encourage you to bring your own mat and yoga props to class (and blanket/s for our Yin and Rest & Revive classes.) 

 

ENTERING & EXITING THE STUDIO 

These days, arriving at and leaving the studio must be done smoothly and swiftly. We will talk you through it when we see you at the studio.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before class begins to complete our student registration form, to meet your teacher, to become familiar with our space, to gather any props required and to allow yourself some time to settle in.

 

  • We advise not to eat a large meal less than 2 hours before class. Performing some postures on a full stomach may make you feel uncomfortable.

 

  • If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, please consult your doctor or medical professional before participating in any physical exercise.

 

  • If you are pregnant, our sincere congratulations! Please be sure to inform your teacher before class, so we can discuss the modifications required to keep your practice safe and comfortable.

 

  • Children and adults cannot sit & wait in our foyer, reception or the studio during any class. Only paid students participating in the scheduled class are allowed in our space when class is running. No exceptions.

 

  • Our doors are locked precisely at the scheduled class start time. We do not accept latecomers. Please do not knock if you are late.

 

WHAT DO I BRING?

 

  • A yoga mat, if you have one. If you do not have your own mat, there are studio mats available for our practitioners use.

 

  • A bottle of water, but no glass bottles, please. 

 

  • Even if you aren’t expecting to sweat, it is always handy to bring a sweat towel along.

 

WHAT DO I WEAR?

 

  • Wear clothing you can comfortably move in that is more fitted than baggy. We recommend stretchy, breathable fabrics like leggings or gym shorts worn with a t-shirt or a tank top that won’t bunch up and get in your way.

 

  • We usually practice in bare feet, so please leave your shoes in the foyer, on the shelving provided or in your bag. However, socks may be worn in our Yin, Rest & Revive and Meditation classes.

 

  • Please avoid wearing strong smelling cologne, perfume or scented lotion to class.

 

STUDIO ETIQUETTE

 

  • Our studio is strictly a DEVICE FREE ZONE. Anything that dings, rings or buzzes (including smartwatches) must be switched off.

 

  • Please only take your mat, towel, props and water into the studio. Phones, bags and all personal belongings must be left in the storage shelves in our reception area.

 

  • Please don’t skip the final relaxation pose called “Savasana” (“Corpse Pose” in English.) It is a necessary time of stillness and deep repose that allows your body to receive the benefits of yoga and, as such, is vital to your practice. Unnecessary movement at this time can also disrupt the meditative rest of those sharing the space with you.

 

  • Please wipe down studio mats after practice and put props and folded blankets away in their respective storage areas.

 

  • Our studio is a safe, inclusive, comfortable space. Please practice compassion and non-judgement at all times.
